Transitional or eclectic dining room?

Location: Private

Designer Credits: Decorating Den Interiors Dream Room

Project Overview:

This dining room features a true eclectic style.  A fairly dark dining area was turned into a light and elegant room with clean lines.

Whereas the traditional cherry table was keept, the Chipendale chairs were replaced with high end upholstered side chairs in a light and more casual fabric finding a perfect match finish for the legs. In contrast the host chairs are upholstered in an aqua and white fabric with a geometric pattern. The other heirloom piece kept was the beautiful grandfather clock. The color scheme is harmonious with the abstrct art piece. A new buffet piece adds a touch of glam to the space with its capiz Shell door, contrasting nicely with its deep stain finish and antique gold finish legs. An accent wall with a soft metallic wallpaper featuring a Greek pattern is the background for the buffet.

The dark draperies were replaced with white plantation shutters and white stationary panels. The ivory panels feature an elegant trim in teal and goblet pleats.
